DDBSA Rescue does not have a "facility", we have volunteers nation wide who open their homes to dogues in need. Each dogs location is listed in their profile. Standard adoption fee is $450.00 which goes to cover their medical needs and spay/neuter. All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and micro chipped before being placed. Completed application and reference/home check required. We do NOT ship or fly rescues as it's too stressful on them. If you are interested in any of our rescues, please complete our adoption application. As of January 1, 2008 our adoption fee has increased to $450 as expenses rise and we are not covering all of the needs with our adoption fee. Information on adopting, including our application can be found here Adopting The Dogue de Bordeaux Society of America Rescue needs volunteers and foster homes nationwide to open their homes to dogues in need. With a record number of Dogues needing to be rescued, our resources are stretched to the maximum. Puppies to Seniors are waiting to come into the program. The DDBSA Rescue assists abused, neglected, abandoned dogues from shelters and pounds as well as assisting owners who can no longer keep their dogue. If you can open your home and heart to a dogue in need, please check out our Foster Policy Thank you for your support |

Shiloh in IL (near Chicago) Shiloh is the sweetest young female ever! She was picked up as a stray and ended up on death row! Shiloh is missing her tail. She has a short stub, which makes her hind end look a bit like a boxer’s. She is about 2-3 years old, crate-trained, housebroken, walks very well on a leash, and is quite submissive. She is startled by loud noises and loud people. In fact, we decided to call her “Shiloh” because she is so shy, yet she is calm, not anxious. She is very new to the program, so although she is not dog-aggressive, we are not sure about cats yet. Shiloh does not know what toys are, but she LOVES going for walks. She gets excited when she sees her leash come out and jumps around you as if she’s dancing. Otherwise, she is happy to lay next to you as you watch TV or read the newspaper. She wants to be near you all the time. She just needs time to learn to relax and trust that she is safe. But once she knows you, she follows you faithfully. She enjoys a nice bath and being brushed gently. In fact, she even comes to you to have her face cleaned after she eats! What a dainty lady! She knows “Sit,” “Stay,” and “Lay Down,” and she is happy to go into her crate. No barking, crying or whining . . . just a lovely girl looking for a loving and peaceful home. We will update her progress as we learn more about her, but from what we’ve seen so far, she is an angel who has come into rescue just in time for the holidays! All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and micro chipped before being placed. Completed application and reference/home check required. Standard adoption fee is $450 applies to all of our rescues. We do NOT ship or fly rescues as it's too stressful on them If you are interested in any of our rescues, please complete our adoption application, it can be completed on line. Agnes in MA (near Boston)
Agnes is a 5 year old healthy female. She is a super affectionate, loving girl, fully house trained, and knows basic manners. Agnes has a very sweet disposition and always wants to be with her people. She loves to play with her toys and she really enjoys a good walk - don't let her age fool you as she is quite active but she can also cozy up on the couch and enjoy a good TV show. She has been spayed, had a complete dental and had her entropian fixed and is now ready for a forever home. Agnes is not for the first time dog owner and she would do best with someone who will be able to continue with her obedience training/socialization. She is good with male dogs of similar size. Agnes would do best in a home without small children and without cats. If you are ready to share your heart and couch with Agnes, please complete our adoption form. All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and micro chipped before being placed. Completed application and reference/home check required. Medical Hold, SPECIAL NEEDS Izzy is a 3 year old female. She is Valley Fever positive and has begun treatment. She is sweet, gentle and enjoys playing with her toys and is a water dog and loves the pool and the hose. She is a rather clingy girl and wants to be near you when you are home and will follow from room to room. Izzy is not yet available until her VF treatment and other vetting is complete. King Located in
Idaho/Portland OR King is a 2 year old neutered male. He is currently in Idaho but travels to the Portland Oregon area with his foster mom often. He is up to date on shots, micro chipped and ready to go. He is healthy, playful, energetic and needs an owner with previous mastiff experience. He is not good with other animals (farm type animals, cats, small dogs) or with children, but is fine with female dogs of similar size. King needs a refresher course on the basics and is learning house training/crate training and would do best in a home that is willing to devote the time and energy needed to properly train/socialize him as he can be a handful and attempts to push the limits. When in the home, he is a total cuddle bug and craves attention and is eager to please. When outdoors, he loves to find the nearest puddle or pond to take a dip in. He is a very smart, quick learner as well and would love to be someone's fishing buddy. His foster mom would love to keep him, but works 14 hour days and just doesn't have the time to devote to King. If your the right home for King, please complete our application. All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and micro chipped before being placed. Completed application and reference/home check required. Standard adoption fee is $450 applies to all of our rescues. Roxy Located in PA (near
Pittsburg)
SPECIAL NEEDS Roxy is a 6 year old spayed female, possibly older. She has basic manners, and is house and crate trained. Roxy is up to date on shots and is micro chipped. She is a very sweet girl, has passed all evaluations, loves to be cuddled and loved on. She is good with other dogs and great with kids, but if placed in a home with kids, they should be older as she will eat any toys left on the floor (this is why she was given up). Roxy is a pretty low key girl and loves to just lounge around. Roxy is a love, but will require a home that can keep a fairly close eye on her as she will eat anything if she has the slightest bit of an upset tummy (toys, clothing, rocks, sticks). She has also blown out both knees and has elbow dysplasia but is doing well on Duramaxx. We have the feeling something more is going on with her, but her blood work looks good so we can't really pin down what is wrong. We are looking for a hospice home for Roxy, where she can live out her life. Roxy's adopt fee will be reduced to the perfect home for her. All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and micro chipped before being placed. Completed application and reference/home check required. Roe Located in IL (near
Dekalb)
Hello people or shall I say
possible new parents. My name is Roe and I am a wonderful young male. I
have enough puppy in me to get the zoomies yet I am mature enough not to
put everything into my mouth. I have lived some of my life on the lamb
and I must admit the best place to be is in your arms and snuggling with
you on a couch. I am crate trained and very respectful in a home. I am a
bit jumpy with new things but the worst is that my body flinches. I am
underweight but my foster family is happy to feed me as much as I need
to gain the much need poundage. I play with my four legged sisters and
brother and what a blast we all have. I am kept separate from them only
at bedtime and during meals. Although I have not shown any food
aggression because I am underweight I might possess the capacity to be
growl. I take treats with zest and I am eager to please. Do you think
you have room in your heart for this handsome lug? I promise to snuggle
and obey and be the best companion you could ever ask for. All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and micro chipped before being placed. Completed application and reference/home check required. Standard adoption fee is $450 applies to all of our rescues. (Long Island) Bailey is a beautiful healthy 3.5 year old female who has had her full share of challenges in her young life. Abandoned and pregnant, she was rescued from certain death by us and is still longing for her permanent home. Even though she has not been treated well initially by people she has not lost her loving nature. She is a great buddy for dedicated parents who will give her the structure and affection she deserves. We guess she wasn't treated well by children so teens and adults would be more her match. If you already have a large dog, she would make a great playmate, little dogs or cats not so much. She cant get enough of you and expect kisses and lots of tail wagging when you come in the door. A little work with her and she will be your forever best pal. How can you resist that face? Rosie in Florida (near Miami)
My name is Rose. I am approximately 5 years old & weigh 93 pounds. My family dumped me & I ended up in the euthanasia room at Miami Dade Animal Services, where I was told my life was going to end. I was a very sick girl, and had been starved so I was extremely emaciated. Luckily, I have 3 angels! My angels found a hospital that could isolate me from the others so they wouldn't get sick. I stayed there for awhile & then went to a friend of my angels where I was treated round the clock, fed & loved! I am all better now except I am looking for a family to take me into their home to love me for the rest of my life. I am heartworm positive but have been getting treatments each month and the doctor says my heart & lungs sound very good so my heartworms will be gone soon! My angels will send the treatment I need with me. My angels say I am a very good girl, sweet, affectionate, love to play, house broken...just all around a good girl...looking for love! If you are a mastiff lover, I believe I am the girl for you! My adoption fee is $300. Contact Kelly 954-650-8027 or Jody 410-493-1536.

Zeus in Southern California
Zeus is a purebred 6 yr old Dogue
de Bordeaux (French Mastiff). His previous owners allowed him to be
run over by a car but had no funds/desire to pay for his treatment.
He suffered fractures in one leg which required orthopedic surgery,
we were happy to be able to be there for him. He had surgery on 7/19
(over 6 hrs long) and is now recovering. He is doing great, just
needs a home able to provide frequent walks to help him rebuild
muscle post surgery. Zeus is a sweet, lovable giant of a dog. This
is a very special breed and he is no exception. We are looking for a
home for him that has experience with large breed dogs. He really
needs a great home! We love him and know so will you. |

Nitro in Orlando FL Nitro is one beautiful and amazing Dogue de Bordeaux. He's just the sweetest dog- we have all heard that before, (and most dogs really are!) but Nitro really is the sweetest dog too! He loves everyone and can’t get enough of being by our side. He just wants to be near us, he's such a good dog. He's about 6 yrs old, HW-, up to date on his shots and neutered. Nitro was surrendered to the pound because his family was getting divorced and neither spouse wanted him anymore. The husband's mother went with him to the pound -crying telling the staff how wonderful Nitro is. Luckily he's safe now, thanks to an army of rescue soldiers, and he's all cleaned up! He had a dental cleaning, needing 2 extractions. His teeth are more beautiful than most peoples are! Boy was he stinky, but he LOVES to get a bath! LOVES it! But it took some wrestling to get his nails trimmed they were so long, but he's so playful and happy now! He is recovering nicely from his entropion surgery, and had a skin tag removed from his face, now he looks even more handsome! Her loves to play hide and seek in the yard, he usually finds us though, but loves to play tag games, he's really pretty smart! If you are interested in knowing more about Nitro, please contact Nancy at jnfreitag@yahoo.com. Nitro will be available for adoption after he heals from his surgery, mid December. His adoption fee is $400. PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application. Please visit www.AmericanBulldogRescue.org to apply! Remember - Adoption is always the best option! If you can't help by adopting a homeless pet, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to American Bulldog Rescue, 4 Terry Drive, Suite 1D Newtown, PA 18940 or paypal AmericanBulldogRescue@verizon.net
