Chance, Michigan. He was just a puppy for
goodness sake. Chance was our Halloween 2001 emergency. This 8 month old
boy had been brought in after he was placed in the same pen with his
father when there was an in heat bitch on premise. Well, needless to
say, the older male prevailed, and the younger got hurt seriously bad.
Through our contact at Michigan All Breed Rescue the clinic had gotten
my number and called. Well, this boy had a seriously fractured forearm,
various lacerations and puncture wounds. I had called Joan & Jim Harris
and they were ready to go out then to go get him, they were 100%
supportive. Instead they had driven there (2 hours away) bright and
early at 8:00 am. They got him and brought him straight to Michigan
State University for his Orthopedic Surgery. After his long-term recovery Joan & Jim of course opened their home to Chance where he has been lovingly cared for and has made many new dog friends as well as a 100% recovery. Chance was our poster dogue of 2002 by being featured on our rescue web site and several advertisements to bring awareness to rescue's plight. Just look at him walk now. Special thanks to Joan & Jim for always being there. |
