Fred was not a DDBS Rescue but nonetheless rescued by someone who cares
about him and the DDBS feels that this story is just as important as our
own rescues. We appreciate Dawn's support of our rescue efforts. Please
read Fred's story.
Fred came to us as a 6 month old pup at an animal hospital that I was a
Vet Tech at because he broke his femoral head (his previous owners let
him ride in a back of a truck).
One afternoon my husband stopped into visit me and saw Fred in his
kennel 6 months old and only 45 pounds and it was love at first
sight...for both of them I might add. He said to me "you bring
everything else home why not him?"...
so I did that night. My husband carried him up and down the steps for
weeks after his surgery until he was strong enough to do it on his own.
After 2 years now he runs the best he can...smiles at you when he is
happy and thinks the family sofa was bought just for him. Fred loves all
four of our kids and his new brothers Jeter and Hunter both Goldens. He
sleeps with Tig the cat on a regular basis but avoids the other cat
Perseus because he learned the hard way not to mess with Percy!
Fred loves his Mommy and loves to go to work with me at the clinic. He
loves to greet clients and check out kitties and other dogs or just to
slobber on the staff whom he adores and I think they all think he is
kinda neat too. But he lives for his Daddy. His world revolves around
him and is not content until Daddy asks him every day who loves him? And
Fred gives him his big sloppy slobber only a Dogue lover can appreciate.
He has a great loving home that wouldn't trade him for the world!
